Cher shared her experience in this review: "Beware!! Went to Best Western reservation website and called the reservation number. Where the fellow I spoke with made no mention he was quoting in US$. and said free cancellation on the phone. It wasn't until I got the confirm from getaroom.com I saw this Price was US$ and no cancellation refund. I'm calling from Canada, booking a room in Canada. Why would I pay in US$? BW has gone to **. So much for loyalty and VIP customers. Nothing but run around from Best Western, they can't help me. Getaroom offered me $12. Will never use either of these companies again."
Former Employee - Customer Care Representative says"Newer booking system- had to relearn new system"
Director of Housekeeping (Former Employee) says"Work at this hotel for 3 years very challenge places special the management people they don't know about hotel ...bunch a puppets with ties and skirt."

Assistant Head Housekeeper (Former Employee) says"This company is terrible to work for. I never once got a raise. Me and my coworkers were called lazy by the owner. They will only hire you if you're pretty. They do not give you what you need. No gloves, chemicals, protective gear, etc. They're terrible and disrespectful to the staff. N/aNo raises, no advancement, racist, sexist"
Housekeeping (Former Employee) says"They over work their housekeepers and dont care we have to get everything done and done right the first time. You will be so tired and hurting at the end of the day when you get home you cant do s*** you cant move at all from being over worked. Need more girls in the summer for part time housekeeping. Because in the winter you will be laid if you are the new person. For a raise they only give you .25 - .50 a year . They will not appreciate you. Owner just cares about his rooms getting cleaned he dont care how many you have. They give you 26-30 rooms a day and they will give you more if someone calls off. They will want them all done unless your there for 8 - 9 then they will tell you to go home they dont like anyone getting over time. Some great girls to work with . SomeStart brakes, no paid lunch, not good pay, not appreciated and very poor management"
Laundry Worker (Former Employee) says"I interviewed a few months ago for a laundry position. I have a very minor tremor issue that I was born with. I am perfectly physically able to perform as a laundry attendant but was told that she didn't think I would be able to physically handle the job. She then put her arms up in the air and wiggled them around and added that it is a very physical job. At home I take care of 3 adults over the age of 75. This person has no idea what I am physically cabable of, all she saw was my tremor and denied me even a chance at work.NonePrejudice"
Front Desk Clerk (Former Employee) says"There is no way to grow in this company, Also you do not get breaks or lunches, They make you work by yourself lots of stress, hires people every day every week, interview are not interview. Very unprofessional place to work, Bad management. No overtime paid."
Housekeeper (Current Employee) says"They dont care about employees they overworked me they cut my house they played with my pay rate for over year they have a very small staff and a big hotelNoneEverything"
Front Desk Agent (Current Employee) says"I worked here for 6 months and the owner of the hotel is not at all a hood employer. I would not recommend anyone to work here. None of the employees were happy and left the job. Every month they hire new employees and fire them in next 2-3 months, they like to take salaries of their employees as wellEverythingNothing"
Sales Assistant (Former Employee) says"Very poorly managed establishment which survives on under the table payments to favoured staff members and cutting the hours of staff they dont like. They will even go to the extent of asking for your tips to replace till variances you had nothing to do with and give you no contract so they can cut your hours legally. Very illegitimate business to work for especially if you are of colour. Hearing the work paki from both staff and customers. Acocks green is still a very racially charged area. I wouldn't advice working here unless you are caucasian.Laid back as there isnt much organisationRewards and recognition is based on who you know and not how hard you work."
Supervisor/Manager (Former Employee) says"No benefits no room for advancement not enough pay for work. Messed up paychecks and no direct deposit. No materials to work your every day job and they don’t want to pay no one so they don’t want you to hire people to do the jobNoneLow pay"
Shift Leader (Former Employee) says"I have to say it was very great in the beginning. The managers were comforting and kind that’s the bait. They would tell you “ I want you to tell us what’s going on & what people are doing and not doing”, “be a team leader”, “I wanna make you a shift manager”. They had it set in my brain that I was wanted, needed & valued . For $9.50 an hour. After 1 whole year almost of working for Best Western my boss goes. I got you a $1 raise. She made it seem like a big deal. Her own word were “I had to fight to get you that $1”. That’s totaling $10.50 an hour before taxes. I was an amazing employee & wouldn’t “bend” as one manager told me, as in I wouldn’t break rules or let things go when another employee wasn’t doing something right or breaking rules. Yet, they want me to be a team leader. A team leader follows rules in my book. If I’m taught how to do something right it’s gonna get done properly. I didn’t receive any bonuses or vacation time we were allowed PTO which average out about 5 days a year. If you work 40+ hours a week. I bent over backwards for this company & it’s employees. When someone called out I was there to help, or if an employee came in high off pills & couldn’t keep awake I was there. I worked that double shift & had to be to work 6 hours after that double shift. I’ve helped In the restaurant, room service, maintenance & housekeeping. I did what I could to help out. I was promised a shift manager position. Did everything I could do and still didn’t get the position. Covid-19 came around and everything collapsed before we knew it. Business was very slow so theyIt’s a jobConstant drama, lazy co-workers, bedbugs, rats, roaches, they had illegal staff over 20 without US Documents."
Laundry/Housekeeping (Former Employee) says"Absolutely based experience. I was excited to start work here but unfortunately there were multiple issues from the favoring between housekeepers and laundry operator, false reports without further investigations, at the time.i was a first time mom and had no means of transportation except public transportation where I use to pick up my then preschooler..I was fired due to my obligations as a mom. I volunteered to do overtime during snow days and was paid poorly.NoneShort breaks, no tips from residents, favortism, prejudice attitudes, no workplace protection, your outside obligations does not quite matter"
Receptionist/Housekeeper (Former Employee) says"Best Western in Saint Helens needs some work. I had ups and downs there. Mostly downs! Under paid, under valued! At will state so no reason to fire you.Its a job.Fraudulent checks, under payed, under valued."
Housekeeper (Former Employee) says"The owner can't figure out how to keep up with all his lies. Blames everything on other people and takes no responsibility for his total lack of business skills. Honesty goes alot further then lies.Nice Co-workersPoor owner management"
Housekeeping (Former Employee) says"Not a good work environment. Does not help if you need maternity leave. Boss gets mad at everything not a good pay for how many rooms you’re cleaning a dayNoneEverything"
Front Desk Agent (Former Employee) says"Best western is by far the worst place I have ever worked. Management is a group of sorry, miserable people. Tiffany is a thief and the most unprofessional manager I have ever worked for. Management has no clue how to run a hotel. Even when hiring a new frint desk manager they screw up. It seems like management goes out of their way to only hire other clueless individuals to manage the hotel. The place is a joke. Work anywhere else possible. Mmanagement decidedNoneManagement, Ownership, And unprofessionalism."
Housekeeper/Laundry (Former Employee) says"I really enjoyed the laundry and cleaning aspect of the job, but everything else was HORRIBLE! The owner is really cheap and doesn’t want to get anything that is broken fixed, won’t hire any help and expects the housekeepers to work 6-7 days a week short staffed. The manager isn’t much better at all. Instead of managing the hotel, she is either in her suite or in the pool. She also expects you to work nonstop as well and both the owner and manager DOES NOT value you as an employee. They constantly are having people check in and end up getting kicked out because of drugs."
Desk Clerk/Receptionist (Former Employee) says"The Gm was horrible He would complain about other employees to other employees He had on his mind trying to date others not on work. The manager was clueless he could not train others did not motivate others did not use his time wisely Housekeepers often did not clean rooms"
Front Desk Receptionist (Former Employee) says"The location in pleasanton tx is horrible!!! i wish i could rate them ZERO stars. This was one of my first jobs and I would never refer anyone to work here!! The management would literally harass you and watch you on their cameras all day long. Not to mention they do not pay over time even if you earned it which is illegal!! They dont care about the employees who work there.I hated every second of working here. The only enjoyable part was the staff who worked there at the time and the customers.Nothingno breaks, no insurance, no overtime, management"
Guest Service Agent (Former Employee) says"When I First started working at the Best western Plus in State College PA, I Loved it. After a few months the true colors of management started to show. The general manager at this location will scream and curse at her employees. It has happened to me and i have witnessed it happen to many others. If you enjoy being degraded and cursed at by your GM then this is the place for you. Dont bother trying to bring anything up to upper management about it either because they dont care. This Location does not care about or respect there employees. Its all about money and keeping guests happy. To this company you are just a replaceabel pawn in there corupt regeime"
